In period 19. 06 to 23.06.2023, students and academic staff from three Academies of Fine Arts met in Barcelona to close a year-long Blended Intensive Program (2022-2023) encounter and exchange program of events.

Paula Strunden's work Alison's Room: An Extended Reality (XR) Archive, which she produced as part of her dissertation as part of the EU research project TACK: Communities of Tacit Knowledge: Architecture and Its Ways of Knowing, has been nominated for the Dutch film award Gouden Kalf.

The first step for admission to a degree programme at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna - after passing the entrance examination - is the online admission at campus.akbild.ac.at - "pre-registration".

This year, the PLAYGROUND ART PRIZE 2023 of the Galerie VON&VON goes to Lotti Brockmann, student at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Prof. Veronika Dirnhofer, for her work Stolen Statues (Licked). Since 2016, the PLAYGROUND exhibition series has offered young artists the ideal opportunity to present their work to a broad audience and make their first contacts in the art world.

For the academic year 22|23, the Academy will award the following prizes to distinguished graduates and students:

The Award for Scientific Works 2022/23 is awarded to Nargess Khodabakhshi for her dissertation (IKL). The Honorary Award goes to Helena Schmidt for her dissertation (IKL).

Tizza Covi, professor of Art and Film at the Institute of Fine Arts since October 2022, and Rainer Frimmel were awarded for their portrait film Vera in the feature film category. Congratulations!
